
Mariela Arreola is a researcher whose work bridges the sciences and the arts. She studied biology at the Universidad de Sonora (UNISON), specializing in biotechnology, and completed an exchange semester at the University of Regina, Canada. Driven by a strong interest in mindfulness and psychology, she later earned a postgraduate diploma in neuropsychology. Her passion for storytelling and visual culture also led her to complete a course in cinematographic production.
Mariela's career centers on exploring the intersection of scientific inquiry and artistic expression, emphasizing their shared importance to society. Alongside her scientific training, she has pursued creative writing through a poetry course taught by Rupi Kaur. Her ongoing interest in the brain and holistic wellness continues to shape her work. In 2025, she began a master's degree in neurobiology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and became a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII), recognizing her contributions to biology, biotechnology, and neuroscience.
